Range: —Central Peru to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Rare; terrestrial in humid regions, on shaded banks; 1600–2000 m.
Notes: —This may be confused with Selaginella novae-hollandiae which has auricled, basally ciliate median leaves (vs. not auricled, basally glabrous), and basally ciliate lateral leaves (vs. glabrous). This species, like S. novae-hollandiae , sometimes bears sobols near stem bases.
