Selaginella anceps (C.Presl) C.Presl, Abh. Königl. Böhm. Ges. Wiss. View in CoL , ser. 5, 3: 581. 1845.
Range: — Costa Rica to Venezuela, northern Brazil ( Valdespino 2015a), and Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Locally common; terrestrial in humid forests, also in secondary habitats; to 700 m.
Notes: — Selaginella lechleri Hieron. from Colombia to Peru, may occur in Bolivia. It differs from S. anceps by its basally denticulate (vs. ciliolate) median leaves, and ascending to spreading (vs. appressed) leaves on the main stems just beyond the first branches, so that near the axil of the first branch the stems and leaves are broader (4–5 mm vs. 1–3 mm wide).
