Meghalaya: Khasi Hills, Sillet, Dec. 1823, [Herb. Wight, Wallich cat. n. 3550] F. De Silva s.n. (MH00006620!; isolectotypes A01143269!, A01143270!, BR0000005304660!, E00179126!, K000821359!, K001119697!, M0171143!, P00589407!).
Distribution:— Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam and India (Northeast Indian states).
Notes:— Eugenia tetragona was described by Wight (1841) based on the specimens of Wallich catalogue number 3550 collected from Khasi Hills, Sillet, India by F. De Silva. One specimen of Wallich catalogue number 3550 and included by Wight in his herbarium is traced at MH (MH00006620). Further, eight specimen of Wallich catalogue number 3550 were also traced (A01143269, A01143270, BR0000005304660, E00179126, K000821359, K001119697, M0171143 and P00589407). Of these, the MH specimen ( Figure 9 View FIGURE 9 ) is selected here as the lectotype because it was included by Wight in his herbarium.
