Discussion: Özdikmen (2006) proposed Acerbitas as a new name for the junior homonym Thyas Koch 1836 . Following the rules of the International Code for Zoological Nomenclature, the oldest available valid name for the genus is Todothyas Cook, 1974 . Therefore, Acerbitas becomes a valid name for the subgenus which includes all the described species grouped in the former subgenus Thyas .
