Panisopsis thori (Walter, 1907)
Panisopsis vigilans Piersig, 1896 - Özkan & Boyaci 1990 (erron.)
Discussion: Poorly sclerotized specimens may have a pair of short posterior extensions at the frontal shield and the frontal eye surrounded by a ring-shaped unsclerotized area. Thus, they may resemble P. vigilans . This species, however, is characterized by a very large unsclerotized area around the frontal eye (maximum extension about ½ L and> ½ W of the shield), posterior extensions of the frontal shield very narrow and the remaining dorsal sclerites very small and knob-shaped. The deutonymph with large dorsalia reported under the name P. v i g i l a n s from Turkey ( Özkan & Boyaci 1990) is surely a representative of P. thori . Thus, P. vigilans remains restricted to Central and Northern Europe.
