Torrenticola (Torrenticola) amplexa minutivalvata Lundblad, 1956

Material examined: Holotype 3 SMNH 4065, France, stream near Argeles; paratype Ƥ SMNH 4066, ditto. Discussion: Lundblad (1956) described this taxon tentatively as a subspecies of T. amplexa , not excluding the possibilty of subsequent elevation to species rank. In fact, clear differences in proportions and dimensions of the male coxae (coxal field elongate and slender), genital field (very reduced in size) and ejaculatory complex (not extremely narrowed, with large proximal chamber) demonstrate that T. minutivalvata is a valid species. Actually, the species is only known from two sites in the French Pyrenees.
