Bandakia bieberi Bader, 1994 nov. syn.
Material examined: NHMB, Bandakia bieberi holotype 3 Switzerland, National Park Graubünden NP 83/ 35, FWQ 1 Nr 12, 28.07.1983. Further slides in NHMB: Switzerland, National Park Graubünden, various sites and dates (4/12/1). Bandakia concreta Germany, Berchtesgaden National Park, from 9 different sites, (2/ 16/2) ( Gerecke & Martin 2006).
Discussion: Following Bader (1994), B. bieberi is characteristic in (1) suture Cx-III/IV continuous, reaching medial margin of coxal plate, and (2) leg setae smooth, not pennate. Both characters are unsuitable for separating the species from B. concreta : (1) is found in the same state in most specimens of B. concreta , with some individual variability (occasionally, medial part of the suture hardly visible in strongly sclerotized specimens) and (2) could not be confirmed in the holotype and all other specimens conserved under the name B. bieberi at NHMB – as usual in Bandakia , they have pennate leg setae. Bandakia bieberi is a junior synonym of B. concreta .
