Type locality Indonesia, Moluccas, Ceram, Manusela National Park .
Type material. — Holotype ♂ in primary forest leaf litter near Kali W asamata camp, 10 km SE of Roho village, 380-400 m, 26- 29, xi. 1996, M. Kuntner et al.; paratypes: 1 ♂, 3 ♀ same data (2 ♀ SIW 1 ♀ CD),
Other material. None.
Diagnosis. — A large (5 mm long), dark coloured species. Males can be easily recognized in the palp by the large conspicuous rod-shaped branch of the conductor. Epigyne superficially somewhat similar to K. montana and K. calciphila the vulva shows substantial differences.
Description.— MALE. Total length 4.75 mm. Carapace length 2.35 mm. width 1.65 mm, height 0.65 mm, width head 1.25 mm, width eye region 0.90 mm; abdomen length 2.40 mm, width 1.50 mm. Leg length: leg I 8.45 mm (2. 15-3.00-2. 25-1.05); leg II 6.60 mm (1.70-2. 30-1.60-1. 00): leg III 5.65 mm (1.50-1. 70-1.50-0.95); leg IV 7.95 mm (2.00-2. 45 2.25-1. 25). palp 0.90-0.40-0.45- 0.90 mm. Carapace, mouthparts and sternum dark chestnut with black radiating veins, glossy, abdomen almost black, coxae and femora dark brown, tibiae middle brown, tip of tibia I and metatarsi and tarsi yellow. Eyes: AME less than half their d apart, a little larger than other eyes, PM 2 d apart, 1 d from the laterals. Clypeus as large as d AME, with feebly rounded hump, anterior margin rebordered, with round lobe in the middle. Sternum glossy with small shallow pits. Dorsals scutum almost reaching tip of abdomen, leaving lateral strips uncovered, ventral epigastric scutum with anterior collar with 1 groove. Legs: femora geniculate, dorsal bulge in femur I and II angular; tibia I with 8pv and 9 rv, tibia II with 6pv and 6rv, tibia III 1 -Opv, tibia IV 1-1 pv; metatarsi I with 5pv and 5rv, metatarsi II with 4pv and 4 rv, metatarsus III and IV with 2- Ov. Spinnerets fig. 414. Palpal fem ur with a row of stiff setae vent rally, tibia with a bifid retrolateral apophysis; tegulum with large branched conductor, m em branous tegular apophysis not observed, embolar plate large, rectangular ( figs 410, 411).
FEMALE. Total length 4.70 mm. Carapace length 1.80 mm, width 1.40 mm. height 0.65 mm, head width 1.10 mm, width eye region 0.75 mm; abdomen length 2.60 mm, width 1.75 mm, epigyne 0.45 mm wide. Leg lengths: leg I 7.35 mm (1.80-2. 65- 1.90-1. 00), leg II 5.65 mm (1.45-2. 00-1.40-0.80). leg III 4/ 75 mm (1. 25-1.50-1. 25-0.75), leg IV 6.95 mm (1.75-2. 25-1.95-1. 00), palp 0.70-0.35-0.45- 0.75 mm. Leg spination as male, except for tibia IV with 1-0 proventral spine only. Palpal femur with a row of 4 stiff setae ventrally, patella with Id, tibia and tarsus with 1d and 1pl spine. Distribution. — Only known from the type locality, Etymology.— Named after Matjaz Kuntner, collector of the specimens.
