Pecluma choquetangensis (Rosenst.) M.G.Price, Amer. Fern J. View in CoL 73(3): 114. 1983.
= Polypodium choquetangense Rosenst., Meded. Rijks-Herb. 19: 18. 1913.
Range: — Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC) and northwestern Argentina ( Chambi et al. 2015) .
Ecology: —Locally fairly common; epiphytic, rarely on rocks or terrestrial in semihumid forests; often on Podocarpus or Polylepis trees; 2300–3850 m. The blades begin to produce spores on the proximal pinnae while the distal pinnae are still developing, an unusual character in Pecluma and in Polypodiaceae .
Notes: —In Pecluma , this may be mistaken for P. curvans , which has less deeply incised blades; there is greater, but superficial, similarity to some species of Grammitidoideae , e.g., Ascogrammitis athyrioides (Hook.) Sundue. The leaves dry a distinctive dark brownish green, and are thicker textured than most other Pecluma spp.
