Genus Letana Walker, 1869
Type species: Letana linearis Walker, F. , by original monotypy.
Diagnosis: Tribe Letanini includes two genera- Letana Walker, 1869 and Himertula Uvarov, 1940 ( Cigliano et al. 2019). Letana differs from Himertula in the following characters: 1. Male ninth abdominal tergum arcuately produced posteriorly, more or less covering abdominal apex ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). 2. Male tenth abdominal tergum fused with epiproct forming a large and highly modified supra-anal plate of varying shape ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ). 3. Male subgenital plate divided almost from base; lobes diverging and strongly bowed dorsad or anterior-dorsad ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ). 4. Ovipositor comparatively longer and less acute ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ).
