The subgenera Sinuatiagrilus , Arquaagrilus, Quercuagrilus , Dentagrilus and Austragrilus were used as interpolated names in binomina or trinomina by Alexeev (1979). None of these names were indicated as new intentionally either by an inscription or in the text. All subgenera except Austragrilus were cited with more than one species, but without fixation of a type species are unavailable (Article 13.3). The subgenus Austragrilus was used as an interpolated name in binomen of the single species Agrilus kurumi Kurosawa, 1957 with a brief definition pertaining to the species and not purported to differentiate the subgenus. Following ICZN (Article 13.1.1) the name Austragrilus is unavailable.

Alexeev (1981a) used Sinuatiagrilus and Dentagrilus as an interpolated name in a binomen of “ Agrilus (Sinuatiagrilus) zhelochovtsevi Alexeev , sp.n. ” and “ Agrilus (? Dentagrilus ) rudicollis Alexeev, sp.n. ”. Despite the inscription “sp. n.” both taxa were previously described by Alexeev (1979), thus this act is not a combined description of new genus­group taxon and new species (Article 13.4). There is in the redescriptions no mention about characters that are purported to differentiate Sinuatiagrilus or Dentagrilus (Article, 13.1.1), thus the names are unavailable. Moreover Dentagrilus was proposed conditionally (Article 15.1).

Alexeev (1981b) used Dentagrilus and Xeragrilus as interpolated names in a binomen of newly described taxa “ Agrilus (Dentagrilus) gussakovskiji Alexeev , sp.n. ” and “ Agrilus (Xeragrilus) pseudoconstantini Alexeev , sp.n. ”. There is in the descriptions no mention about characters that are purported to differentiate the Dentagrilus or Xeragrilus (Article, 13.1.1). These acts cannot be considered a combined description of new genus­group taxon and new species because they lack both “gen. nov., sp. nov.” or any equivalent expression required by Article 13.4, thus the names are unavailable.

Alexeev (1990) cited the subgenera Arquaagrilus with five species and Quercuagrilus with seven species, but without characters and fixation of type species. The names Arquaagrilus and Quercuagrilus are thus unavailable (Articles 13.1.1 and 13.3).

Alexeev et al. (1991) used Aridagrilus as an interpolated name in a binomen of “ Agrilus (Aridagrilus) validiusculus Semenov ” with the description of larval characters. There is in the descriptions no mention about characters that are purported to differentiate the Aridagrilus (Article 13.1.1), thus the name is unavailable.
