Dissodactylus crinitichelis Moreira 1901: 37 View in CoL .
Material examined. Brazil, Ceará: 1 female, LIMCE-UFC 668, Aracati, Praia de Majorlândia, sand flat, associated with Melita quinquesperforata (Leske), coll. P.P.G. Pachelle, 31.iii.2013 [fcn PP 13-005]; 1 female, LIMCE-UFC 669, same collection data [fcn PP 13-006]; 2 males, 1 female, LIMCE-UFC 877, Icapuí, Praia do Retiro Grande, sand-mud flat, associated with Encope emarginata (Leske) , coll. H. Matthews-Cascon, 04.i.2014.
Distribution. Western Atlantic: USA (North Carolina to Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, Brazil (Pará, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Bahia , Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul), and Argentina ( Melo et al. 1989; Barreto et al. 1993b; Melo 1998; Coelho et al. 2008; Wirtz et al. 2009; Almeida et al. 2010; present study).
Remarks. The present material confirms the occurrence of Dissodactylus crinitichelis in Ceará. In Ceará, D. crinitichelis associates with two different irregular sea urchins, viz. Melita quinquesperforata (Leske) and Encope emarginata (Leske) ; both are known hosts for this pea crab elsewhere in Brazil ( Queiroz et al. 2011).
