Sabulina oxypetala (Woł.) Mosyakin & Fedoronchuk , comb. nov.

Basionym: Alsine oxypetala Wołoszczak (1888: 214) ≡ Minuartia oxypetala (Woł.) Kulczyński (1921: 231) ≡ Minuartia verna (L.) Hiern subsp. oxypetala (Woł.) Halliday (1964: 13) ≡ Sabulina verna (L.) Rchb. subsp. oxypetala (Woł.) Dillenberger & Kadereit (2014: 88) .

Type [lectotype (original material at KRAM) will be designated by M. V. Shevera (pers. comm.) in a future paper]:— UKRAINE: In fissuris rupium calcareum ad pedem montis Czyvczyn, 1580 m a.s.l., 1887, Wołoszczak s.n. ( KRAM).

Note:—This species is closely related to S. verna ( Linnaeus 1767: 72) Reichenbach (1832: 788) , differing from the latter in having more acute petals which are shorter than sepals. It occurs on limestone outcrops in the subalpine mountain belt in the Chyvchyn (Czyvczyn) and Hrynyavy Mountains of the Eastern Carpathians within Ukraine (Chernivtsi Region) and adjacent parts of Romania. Sabulina oxypetala was accepted as a species (sub Minuartia oxypetala ) by Klokov (1952), Tzvelev (2002; 2004; 2012) and Fedoronchuk & Didukh (2002). The species is listed (sub Minuartia oxypetala ) in the 3 rd edition of the Red Data Book of Ukraine ( Fedoronchuk & Chorney 2009).
