Austria ( Fischer 1980, 1981 as Opius mutus ; Hellrigl 1997 as Opius mutus ; Yu et al. 2012), Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland ( Yu et al. 2012), England ( Broad et al. 2012; Yu et al. 2012), Germany (Belokobyskij et al. 2003; Yu et al. 2012), Sweden ( Thomson 1895; Yu et al. 2012), Switzerland (van Achterberg 2014b as Opius brevipalpis ), Turkey ( Fischer and Beyarslan 2005a; Beyarslan and Fischer 2011, 2013; Yu et al. 2012; Beyarslan 2015).

Host records. It is reported from Agromyza hendeli Griffiths, 1963 ( Diptera : Agromyzidae ) and Delia quadripila (Stein, 1916) ( Diptera : Anthomyiidae ) ( Yu et al. 2012).
