( Figs 71 View FIGURE 71 , 89 View FIGURE 89 )
Semachrysa polystricta Yang & Wang, 1994: 68 View in CoL . Type locality: China (Yunnan, Longchuan ). Holotype in CAU.
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the mesonotum with brown markings on prescutum and the anterolateral angle of scutum, the forewing with brown shadings, especially on the basal crossvein of outer gradate series and CuP, the median arch of male gonarcus with shallow invagination on the right angle, the male entoprocessus with acute processus on upper right angle, the ovoid arcessus, the short female vela, and the shallow ventral impression.
Description. Male. Body length 6.4–7.0 mm, forewing length 8.7–10.4 mm, hindwing length 7.3–8.8 mm.
Head with black spots on lateral sides of vertex, gena and between frons and clypeus. Compound eyes prominent and black. Frons with three pairs of black spots on lateral sides and a dark spot at middle. Antennae yellow, scape and pedicel with brown stripe on outer side, wider than flagellum. Clypeal margin with brown stripes. Gena marked black spots. Maxillary and labial palpi with brown stripes on outer side.
Pronotum anterior margin shorter than posterior margin, not marked; mesonotum with brown markings on prescutum and anterolateral angle of scutum, metanotum without markings.
Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing with brown shadings, especially on basal crossvein of outer gradate series and CuP. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 16–20 crossveins; 9–10 radial crossveins present. m1 smaller than m2; im ovoid; 7 psm-psc crossveins with small brown shadings. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 5–7 crossveins, outer gradate series with 6–8 crossveins. Faint shadings on 4th posterior margin crossveins.
Hindwing without shadings. Costal area with 13–16 crossveins; 7–10 radial crossveins and 6 psm-psc crossveins present. Inner gradate series with 4–6 crossveins, outer gradate series with 5–7 crossveins.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, median arch with shallow invagination on upper angles, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus quadrate, with acute processus on upper right angle; arcessus ovoid.
Female. Body length 6.5–7.3 mm, forewing length 9.4–10.5 mm, hindwing length 8.0– 9.1 mm.
Sternum VII longer than tergum VII; tergum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Subgenitale bilobed apically; spermatheca thick, vela short, ventral impression shallow, duct long and coiled.

Distribution. China (Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan); Laos (Bolikhamxay, Champasak).
Remarks. This species is similar to Semachrysa matsumurae in external morphological and female genital characters. These two species can be distinguished by the male genital characters. Se. polystricta has the median arch of male gonarcus with invagination on the upper angle and the entoprocessus with an acute processus on upper right angle. However, the distal half of the male entoprocessus of Se. matsumurae is wide and the basal half is narrow, and the projections on the median arch of male gonarcus have no invagination.
