( Fig. 77 View FIGURE 77 )
Semachrysa yananica Yang & Yang, 1989: 25 View in CoL . Type locality: China (Shaanxi, Yan’an ). Holotype in CAU. comb. nov.
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the head with two small black spots on the vertex, the relatively small compound eyes, the frons and clypeus with small black spots, the terminal palpomere of maxillary and labial palpi not pointed, the thorax without distinct markings, and the basal crossvein of inner gradate series of forewing attached to Psm.
Description. Female. Body length 8.1 mm, forewing length 12.4 mm, hindwing length 11.4 mm.
Head yellow, vertex with two small black spots near middle. Compound eyes relatively small. Antennae yellow, scape and pedicel wider than flagellum. Gena and clypeus with small black spots. Maxillary and labial palpi yellow, terminal palpomere not pointed.
Pronotum quadrate, with short black setae. Mesonotum and metanotum without markings.
Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, without basal dilation.
Forewing short and broad. Pterostigma brown. Costal area with 20–22 crossveins; 13–14 radial crossveins straight. m1 smaller than m2; im ovoid; 7 crossveins between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 6–7 crossveins, basal crossvein of inner gradate series meeting Psm; outer gradate series with 6–7 crossveins.
Hindwing narrow. Costal area with 18 crossveins; 13 radial crossveins and 7 psm-psc crossveins present. Inner gradate series with 5 crossveins, outer gradate series with 5 crossveins.
Material. Holotype ♀, China, Shaanxi, Yan’an, 1975.VI.01, Feng Yuan ( CAU).
Distribution. China (Shaanxi).
Remarks. Yang and Yang (1989) originally described this species based on a female specimen from Shaanxi, China. This species has many characters that are not congruent with those of Semachrysa : the head with spots on vertex, the antennae without stripes, the frons without spots, the thorax without spots, the terminal palpomere of maxillary and labial palpi not pointed, and the wings without brown shadings. This species also does not belong to the Ankylopterygini because of its small compound eyes and the extremely small spots on gena and the vertex. The previous characters are completely consistent with Chrysopa , which belongs to Chrysopini . Hence, we transfer this species to Chrysopa .
