Ankylopteryx rubrocincta Ma & Liu, 2021: 429 . Type locality: China (Yunnan, Mengla). Holotype in CAU.

Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the vertex with two small reddish-brown spots, the scape with brown stripe on outer side, and the supra-antennal area with reddish-brown markings, the small brown spots on the anterolateral angle of pronotum, the mesoprescutum and mesoscutum with brown markings, the metascutum with reddish-brown spots, the dark brown pterostigma, the forewing with brown shadings, especially on basal crossvein of inner gradate series and CuP, the broad and projected apex of entoprocessus, and the relatively wider pseudopenis.

Description. Male. Body length 9.2–10.3 mm, forewing length 14.2–15.9 mm, hindwing length 13.1–14.8 mm.

Head yellow, vertex with two small reddish-brown spots. Compound eyes prominent and black. Scape with brown stripe on outer side. Supra-antennal area with reddish-brown markings and extended to frons. Clypeal margin with brown stripes. Gena marked black spots. Maxillary and labial palpi brownish brown.

Pronotum anterior margin shorter than posterior margin, with small brown spots on anterolateral angle. Mesoprescutum and mesoscutum with brown markings. Metascutum with reddish-brown spots.

Legs with dense setae. Pro- and mesotibia with median black spot. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.

Forewing broad, with brown shadings, especially on basal crossvein of inner gradate series and CuP. Pterostigma dark brown. Costal area broad basally, with 25–28 crossveins; 11–13 radial crossveins present. m1 smaller than m2, im quadrate; 7 psm-psc crossveins with small brown shadings. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 6–9 crossveins, with small brown shadings, outer gradate series with 9–11 crossveins. Faint shadings on forking marginal veins.

Hindwing narrow, with brown shadings on apical inner gradate series, CuP and forking marginal veins. Pterostigma dark brown. Costal area with 19–22 crossveins; 9–10 radial crossveins and 6 psm-psc crossveins present. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 6–7 crossveins, outer gradate series with 6–8 crossveins.

Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus short, attached at about basal 1/4 of gonarcus, broad and projected at tip; pseudopenis wider relatively.

Female. Body length 8.9–11.7 mm, forewing length 12.5–15.7 mm, hindwing length 11.3–14.5 mm.

Sternum VII longer than tergum VII; tergum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Subgenitale bilobed apically; spermatheca thick; vela and ventral impression absent; duct long and coiled.

Remarks. This species has similar wing patterns compared to A. octopunctata candida , but it has reddish stripes around antennae and unique thoracic markings.
