( Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 , 79 View FIGURE 79 )
Ankylopteryx diffluens Ma & Liu, 2021: 426 . Type locality: China (Yunnan, Menglun ). Holotype in CAU.
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the reddish-black spots below the antennae, the scape and pedicel each with reddish-brown stripe on both the outer and inner side, the pronotum, mesoprescutum and mesoscutum with brown spots on the anterolateral angle, the pro- and mesotibia with median black spot, the wings with scattered brown shadings, the quadrate cell im, the male entoprocessus attached at about basal 1/3 of gonarcus, and the slightly projected apex of the entoprocessus.
Description. Male. Body length 7.80 mm, forewing length 11.90 mm, hindwing length 11.00 mm.
Head yellow, vertex raised. Compound eyes blackish-brown. Scape and pedicel with reddish-brown stripe on outer and inner side, flagellum yellow, reddish-black spots below antennae. Clypeal margin with brown stripes. Gena marked brown spots. Maxillary and labial palpi brownish yellow.
Pronotum anterior margin short than posterior margin, with small brown spots on anterolateral angle; mesoprescutum and mesoscutum with brown spots on anterolateral angle, metanotum yellow.
Legs with dense setae. Pro- and mesotibia with median black spot. Pretarsal claw brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing broad, with brown shadings, especially on radial crossveins, base of Rs, inner gradate series, psm-psc crossveins and CuP. Pterostigma pale brown. Costal area broad basally, with 23–25 crossveins; 11 radial crossveins present. m1 smaller than m2, im quadrate; 7–8 crossveins present between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 6–7 crossveins, outer gradate series with 7–8 crossveins. Faint shadings on the forking of marginal veins.
Hindwing narrow, with shadings on inner gradate series, CuP and posterior marginal veins. Pterostigma pale brown. Costal area with 19 crossveins; 8–9 radial crossveins and 6 psm-psc crossveins present. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Gradate series with pale brown shadings, inner gradate series with 4–6 crossveins, outer gradate series with 5–6 crossveins.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus slightly curved in dorsal view, attached at about basal 1/3 of gonarcus, narrowed and projected at tip; pseudopenis widest near tip.
Female. Body length 8.20 mm, forewing length 13.00 mm, hindwing length 12.40 mm.
Sternum VII obviously longer than tergum VII; tergum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Subgenitale bilobed apically; spermatheca thick; vela and ventral impression absent; duct long and curved.
Material. Holotype ♂, China, Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Menglun, No. 55 experimental site, 780 m, 2019.IV.25, Hongyu Li ( CAU) . Paratype: 1♀, same as holotype ( CAU) .
