This species is characterized by the presence of the head without spots, the meso- and metascutum with black spots on the anterolateral angle, the forewings with brown shadings on the 2nd to 4th inner gradate series and between CuP, the median arch of male gonarcus with small V-shaped invagination, and the arcessus rounded at base but pointed at tip.

Description. Male. Body length 12.0– 12.8 mm, forewing length 16.2–18.6 mm, hindwing length 14.6–16.0 mm.

Material. Holotype ♂, China, Yunnan, Tengchong, 1650 m, 1981.IV.27, Chikun Yang ( CAU); paratype: 1♂, China, Yunnan, Longchuan, 1430 m, 1981.IV.28, Chikun Yang ( CAU). 1♂, China, Yunnan, Gongshan, Dulong, light, 1511 m, 2015.V.06, Yunlong Ma ( CAU); 1♂ 3♀, China, Yunnan, Gongshan, Dulong, Qinlandang, light, 1230–1320 m, 2015.V.08, Yunlong Ma ( CAU); 1♂, China, Yunnan, Lushui, Pianma, 2023.V.22 ( CAU); 1♀, China, Xizang, Zayü, 1500 m, 2020.VIII.09, Yuchen Zheng ( CAU); 1♀, China, Xizang, Zayü, 2019.VI.15, Rongrong Shen & Yingnan He ( CAU).

Distribution. China (Xizang, Yunnan).

Remarks. This species is similar to R. notata , especially the brown shadings on inner gradate series of forewings and the small but broad V-shaped invagination on median arch of male gonarcus. However, this species has black spots on the anterolateral angle of the meso- and metascutum and the arcessus not inverted. In contrast, R. notata has no markings on the meso- or metascutum and has inverted arcessus.
