Retipenna diana Yang & Yang, 1994: 66 View in CoL . Type locality: China (Yunnan, Mt. Xishan). Holotype in CAU.

Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the head and thorax without spots, the median arch of male gonarcus with U-shaped invagination, and the almost triangular arcessus.

Description. Male. Body length 10.5–12.0 mm, forewing length 17.1–19.3 mm, hindwing length 15.2–16.4 mm.

Head yellow, vertex raised. Compound eyes prominent and black. Antennae yellow, scape and pedicel wider than flagellum. Frons, clypeus and gena not marked. Maxillary and labial palpi brownish yellow.

Pronotum anterior margin shorter than posterior margin, mesonotum and metanotum without markings.

Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.

Forewing slightly narrow, costal crossveins, radial crossveins and inner gradate series brown. Pterostigma pale brown. Costal area with 20–24 crossveins; 14–16 radial crossveins present. m1 smaller than m2; im ovoid; 11 psm-psc crossveins present. c1 smaller than c2, dcc closed. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 8–11 crossveins, outer gradate series with 12–16 crossveins.

Hindwing narrow, without shadings. Costal area with 17–20 crossveins; 12–16 radial crossveins and 9–10 psm-psc crossveins present. Inner gradate series with 12–13 crossveins, outer gradate series with 12–16 crossveins.

Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII slightly shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, median arch with U-shaped invagination, lateral arms of gonarcus narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus widest at tip; arcessus almost triangular.

Female. Body length 12.0– 14.8 mm, forewing length 18.8–21.8 mm, hindwing length 17.1–19.1 mm.

Sternum VII longer than tergum VII; tergum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Subgenitale broad and bilobed apically; spermatheca thick, vela short, ventral impression present, duct long and coiled.
