Ophioteichus parvispinum H.L. Clark, 1938: 362 –364, pl. 15, fig. 2; pl., 25, fig. 4 (type species).
Type material. Holotype MCZ 5307, dry (6 mm disc diameter, 11 mm arm length), from Neds Beach, Lord Howe Island, Australia, April 16, 1932, under a rock on a reef flat.
Diagnosis. Disc nearly circular, higher than the arms, covered with smooth plates, each plate is surrounded by a belt of small scales. Radial shields small, flat; each pair separated by one tubercle. In each interradius the disc margin is encircled by three or four spherical tubercles. Rudimentary accessory dorsal and ventral arms plates; minute pores on the lateral margins of the dorsal arms plates. Six oral papillae on each side. Four arm spines that are short and thick at the base. Two flat and nearly equal tentacle scales.
