Platygaster siphon Förster, 1840: 46 , fig. 24.
Current status. Platygaster tisias Walker, 1835
Lectotype Ƥ; paralectotypes 21 ƤƤ, no locality (NHMW); paralectotypes 2 ƤƤ, Germany, Aachen (MNHN); paralectotypes 2 ƤƤ, no locality (MNHN). Lectotype designated by Vlug (1973).
Remarks. There is much Förster material in the MNHN acquired via the O. Sichel collection, although four syntypes of P. siphon were the only specimens which could be recognised as types, they are now paralectotypes following the lectotype designation by Vlug (1973). The four types all bear Förster’s own labels. No type locality was given in the original description, Förster (1940: 9) merely says ‘… habe ich die neuentdeckten Arten meiner Sammlung beschrieben’ so the type locality is unknown, but is probably Aachen as was found for two of the newly discovered paralectotypes. This species was synonymised with Platygaster tisias Walker by Buhl (1996).
