Male. Median size in the tribe Meconematini . Fastigium verticis conical, protruding, dorsally furrowed, apex obtuse. Eyes nearly spheroidal, protruding. Maxillary palpi slender, apical segment enlarged, longer than subapical one. Anterior margin of pronotum somewhat protruding, posterior sulcus obvious; metazona elevated, elongated; posterior margin obtuse, lateral lobes of pronotum longer than high, humeral sinus inconspicuous. Thoracic foramen developed, peanut-shaped. Tegmina longer than hind wings for 2.0–3.0mm, surpassing apices of postfemora, anterior and posterior edges nearly parallel, apices blunt, subapical region curved dorsad. Femora without ventral spines, apices of genicular lobes blunt. Fore coxa with 1 spine; foretibiae with open auditory organs on internal and external sides, with 6 short internal spines and 5 external spines on ventral margin, mesotibiae with 6 external spines on ventral margins. Posttibiae with 20 to 23 spines on internal and external sides on dorsal margins; with 7–9 spines on ventral margin. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with u–emargination. Supra-anal plate broad, fused with tenth abdominal tergite in basal part, partly membranous, with two blunt, cylindrical processes. Cerci complex, with wide dorsal lobes and narrow ventral lobes, ventral lobe hook-shaped, apical part narrow, subapex constrictive, apex blunt, curved forward. Subgenital plate trapeziform, basal part broad, apex narrow, both lateral carinae obvious. Styli long.

Body yellowish brown, with irregular brown stripes. Middle area of frons with black to brown transverse stripe. Vertex black. Apices of maxillary palpi brown. Antennae with brown rings. Pronotum with irregular brown stripes on prozona, metazona with brown margin, ventral margin of lateral lobe brown. Tegmina light brown, with some brown spots. First to fourth abdominal tergites light brown, ninth abdominal tergite with black edge and tenth abdominal tergite dark brown, basal part of supra-anal plate and dorsal area of cerci dark brown.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements (mm). Body: 317.0; pronotum: 35.0; tegmina: 321.5; postfemor: 313.5.

Type material. Holotype: male, Changjiang, Hainan, 7 June, 2008, collected by Yi-Bin Ba and Jun-Tong

Lang; paratype: 1male, Wuzhishan, Hainan, 23–25 May, 2008, collected by Yi-Bin Ba and Jun-Tong Lang. Discussion. The new species is similar to T. (Teratura) hastata Shi, Mao & Ou, 2007 , but frons with

transverse black brown stripe, ventral lobe of male cercus long and slender, apex constrictive. Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the male’s cercus morphology.
