( Figs. 15–19 View FIGURES 9 – 18 View FIGURE 19 )

Diagnosis. The male of this species is somewhat similar to that of a Philippine species, Pseudoxyethira cayasana ( Wells & Mey 2002) , in having divided apical spines of the phallus, but is clearly distinguished from the latter in the shape of its inferior appendages; short, not exceeding segment IX, parallel-sided with smooth mesal margins and rounded apices in this species; in contrast to inferior appendages long, exceeding the dorsal plate, and with rugged mesal margins and convex apices as in P. cayasana .

Male ( Figs. 15–18 View FIGURES 9 – 18 ). Black. Small, length of each forewing and hind wing 1.5–1.6 mm and 1.2–1.3 mm, respectively (n = 5); androconia present. Antennae 17-segmented, 1 st and 2nd segments larger than apical segments, 0.4 mm long (n = 5). Spur formula 0, 2, 4, without knob on each foretibia.

Genitalia. Dorsal plate very short, membranous, apical margin broadly concave. Inferior appendages parallelsided, long, with length 4 times width; rounded apically. Phallus long, bifurcated distally, apical 1/ 5 in form of slender spines; spines strongly curved ventrad, each with papilla at base.

Type series. Holotype. Male , Ryukyu Islands, Iriomote-jima, Nishi-funatsuki-gawa, Nishi-funatsuki-bashi, 24˚18’10” N, 123˚51’34” E, 10 m a.s.l., 30.x.2012, TI (CBM-ZI 164650).
