Specimens examined. Holotype male, NSMT – Ap 64, Mt. Maru –yama, Sapporo-shi , Hokkaido, 190 m elevation, 23-X-1978, K. Furuno leg. Paratypes: 1 male, 1 female, same data as for the holotype, deposited in my collection .

Additions to description. On head setae aa, pa and m4 present, sensilla as and ps present ( Fig. 57A); seta sp 1.6 times longer than p; sensilla pp rudimentary ( Fig. 57B). Seta rs inflated, shorter than sr ( Fig. 57C). On maxillary palpus ( Fig. 57D) sensillum md longer and thinner than ml. On galea ( Fig. 57E) digit O longer than M and I, M and I similar to each other in shape and length. Mandible with three teeth, two at distal end and one situated slightly posterior ( Fig. 57F). Pseudoculus with a longitudinal line and one central depression ( Fig. 57G). On hind tarsus ( Fig. 57H) D2 and D4 spine-like, D4 longer and more slender than D2. Central lobe incised, but lines weak, often invisible ( Fig. 57I). Laterostigmata II–IV distinct, with no reticulation ( Fig. 57J). Male squama genitalis with long basiperiphallar setae. On abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 57K) P1a' with basal dilatation and at almost same level with P2; P2a linear.

Remarks. In the original description, the inner structure of pseudoculus was overlooked. A re-examination of the holotype revealed the presence of a longitudinal line and one depression.

This species was at first described as E. yezoensis from Hokkaido Nakamura (1983a). The late Dr. S. L. Tuxen, however, personally pointed out that the specific name was incorrectly formed and needed alternation. As treated in Imadaté (1995), it is emended to E. yezoense .

Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido).
