Cosmopolitan, restricted to indoor plantings in cooler temperate regions; polyphagous, feeding on plants belonging to 88 families; pest of numerous crops, particularly citrus, and ornamentals. Recorded from Saint Lucia by CABI (1999) and Malumphy (2012, on Codiaeum variegatum ).
