Occurs widely in tropical and subtropical areas of the Americas (including the Lesser Antilles), Africa, Asia, Australia and the Pacific; polyphagous, feeding on plants belonging to 18 families; serious pest of mangos. Recorded from Saint Lucia by Watson (2002), Malumphy (2012, on Mangifera indica ) and Stocks (2013).
