Distribution. Western Atlantic— USA (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, Bahamas, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil (São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul) ( Williams 1984; Melo 1999; Melo-Filho & Melo 2001a; Melo-Filho 2008).
Remarks. We found some material from São Paulo deposited in the MZUSP collection (1 ♂, MZUSP 20501, III Cruzeiro UNESP/CLP, R/V Soloncy Moura, st. 14, 23°55ʹS / 044°27ʹW, 300 m, 21.x.2008; 1 ♂, MZUSP 15363, R/V Soloncy Moura, st. 1139, 24°21ʹS / 044°08ʹW, 299 m, 22.iv.2002). Agononida longipes was collected between 40 and 730 m depth ( Williams 1984; Melo 1999), but preferentially between 200 and 400 m depth ( Melo 1999; Melo-Filho & Melo 2001a; Melo-Filho 2008). Sequence accession number (GenBank): MZUSP 20501—16S ( MT320096 View Materials ) ( Miranda et al. 2021).
