This rarely encountered eucnemid species has been recorded from the Cayman Islands. In the United States, D. teres have been found in Florida, Louisiana, Texas ( Muona, 2000), and taken for the first time in Georgia. Specimens were taken from a UV trap and a Lindgren funnel trap.
