Deltometopus amoenicornis (Say, 1836)

In Canada, this common, widespread eucnemid species was previously recorded in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario and Québec ( Muona 2000; Majka 2007). In the United States, D. amoenicornis was known from Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin ( Muona 2000) and newly reported in Rhode Island. Specimens were taken from Lindgren funnel traps. RHODE ISLAND: Kent County: 4.8 km NW Coventry, 7–20 June 2016, L. Petermen (CMNH), 10.8 km W Coventry, 13–28 July 2016, K. Miller (CMNH), Providence County: 1.9 km WSW Pawtucket, 12–27 July 2016, 10–25 August 2016, K. Miller (CMNH), 3.8 km S Cranston, 12–27 July 2016, K. Miller (CMNH).
