In Canada, the eucnemid species was taken in Ontario. In the United States, O. downiei were previously recorded in Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin ( Muona 2000; Otto 2011a) and is reported here for the first time in Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Vermont and Virginia. Specimens were taken from black panel trap baited with EtOH, Lindgren funnel traps, intercept panel trap, UV bucket trap at lights and a Malaise trap.
