Ichneumon delicator Thunberg, 1822 , Mem. Acad. Imp, Sci. St. Petersbourg, 8: 259; 1824, Ibid, 9: 307, sex not given. Type: sex? (abdomen missing), (French West Indies: Saint) Barthelemy Island (Uppsala).

Diagnosis

Head in dorsal view with gena behind eyes slightly concave; gena close to the junction of occipital and hypostomal carinae projected into a spatulate or ellipsoid tooth ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ). Propodeum with anterior transverse carina indented centrally, not forming a smooth arc from side to side. Distal hamuli on vein RA forming a basal cluster with the first 2 hamuli.

Comments. The specimens examined have hind wing basal hamuli on tubular vein C, with 6 hamuli in females, and only 3 in males; for the distal hamuli, there are a total of 6–7 hamuli in females and only 4 in males, unevenly distributed in both sexes, forming a basal cluster with the first 2 hamuli; most females also have a distinct apical cluster ( Fig. 3D View FIGURE 3 ).

Distribution. Argentina, Brazil (Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Santa Catarina), Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Suriname.
