Superfamily Pseudozioidea View in CoL

The male gonopore is coxal. In Pseudozius Dana, 1851 (Pseudoziidae) and Planopilumnus Balss, 1933 (Planopilumnidae) , the gonopore is located at the anterior margin of the large P5 coxo-sternal condyle, the anterior margin of the coxa being overhung by an extension of episternite 7 (Ng 2010: fig. 19A). The penial location allows distinguishing the Planopilumnidae (Ng 2010: fig. 19B) from Pilumnidae , where the penis emerges from the extremity of the coxo-sternal condyle ( Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ). The presence of a similar configuration corroborates the placement of Pseudozius and Planopilumnus Balss, 1933 , to the same superfamily, the monophyly of which needs further testing ( Ng, Guinot & Davie 2008: 179).
