Family Eriphiidae View in CoL

The male gonopore is coxal. In Eriphia Latreille, 1817 , most of the large gonopore opens on the anterior margin of the coxo-sternal condyle, the rest on the coxa itself; the P5 coxa is largely overhung by an extended episternite. The coxo-sternal condyle articulates to sternite 8 by the basal portion of its internal margin, which is variously notched among the species. The penis emerges as a thick, soft papilla. It is obvious that the Eriphioidea as listed by Ng, Guinot & Davie (2008: 62) is not monophyletic and thus needs re-revaluation.
