Global distribution: AT, AU, NA, NT, OL, PA, PAC.
Argentinian distribution: Buenos Aires, Corrientes, Formosa, La Pampa, Mendoza, Río Negro, Tucumán.
Ecology: This very common and cosmopolitan species was observed in all types of environments, from lentic to lotic, temporary to permanent and in phytotelmata. It was found in a wide range of altitudes (20–1330 m a.s.l.), with electrical conductivity values ranging between 112 and 7090 μS/cm and dissolved oxygen values ranging from 0.2 to 3.8 mg /l.
