Diagnosis. This species is similar to G. mutuurella ( Bleszynski, 1965) , but can be distinguished by the male genitalia with one group of cornuti arranged in a row, another group gathered in a cluster; the female genitalia with ductus bursae curved posteriorly in N shape, without protuberance. In G. mutuurella , the phallus has one row of cornuti only; the ductus bursae is straight, with a thumblike protuberance posteriorly.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 2 – 10 ). Forewing length 4.0–5.0 mm. Frons white to pale brown; vertex pale yellow to pale brown. Labial palpus with first segment blackish brown on outer side, yellowish white on inner side; second segment orange yellow on outer side, yellowish white on inner side; third segment grayish brown except white at apex. Maxillary palpus orange yellow, tip pale brown mixed with white. Antenna with dorsal surface white and pale brown alternately, ventral surface pale yellow ciliated white. Patagium and tegula pale brown to blackish brown, posterior margin of tegula with long grayish white scales. Thorax grayish white to pale brown. Forewing densely covered with grayish brown scales; antemedian line yellowish white, lined with blackish brown, angled outwards near costa, then parallell with termen; reniform stigma black, small and rounded; postmedian line yellowish white, lined with blackish brown, angled inwards at anterior one sixth, angled outwards at anterior one third, then parallell with termen; apex orange yellow, with fusiform white stripe; between posterior two thirds of postmedian line and termen almost evenly spaced six black spots and short orange yellow strips alternately, four white spots placed along their inside; fringe pale brown except apex white at base. Hindwing pale brown, darker in female; fringe grayish white to grayish, blackish brown subbasally. Abdomen pale brown to blackish brown, posterior margin of each segment white except for genital segment.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 – 19 ). Uncus pointed apically. Gnathos nearly as long as uncus, downcurved near middle; dorsally convex slightly beyond middle, distal one fourth armed with tiny dentations, with small triangular dorsoapical protuberance; ventral surface densely covered with short setae in distal half. Valva broad basally, narrowed distally, apex concave or slightly convex; with a large setose semicircular subbasal protuberance, its dorsal margin with an extremly specially long seta. Costa well-sclerotized, distally produced to a short and thick prong, reaching three fifths length of valva. Saccus large and broad, with nearly triangular protuberance anterolaterally. Juxta nearly fusiform. Phallus slightly nearly as long as valva, nearly straight; cornuti consisting of a row of different-sized spines on distal half and a subapical cluster of spines.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23 – 25 ). Papilla analis ovate, about one third length of apophysis posterioris. Tergite eight slightly shorter than apophysis anterioris. Ostium bursae broad, about six times as wide as median part of ductus bursae. Antrum funnel-shaped. Ductus bursae curved in N shape anterior to antrum. Ductus seminalis arising from posterior two fifths of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae ovate; signum absent.

Distribution. China (Anhui, Fujian, Guangxi, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hong Kong, Shaanxi). Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin biconvexus = biconvex, in reference to the double protuberances on anterior margin of saccus in the male genitalia.
