Diagnosis. This species can be clearly distinguished from H. amamioshima by the male labial palpus, of which second segment is long and straight, directed forwards, and the third segment is shorter ( Figs 1–4 View FIGURES 1–6 ). The basal ornamentation of the aedeagus vesica of this species is a little variable, but slightly different from that of H. amami- oshima ( Figs 21 View FIGURES 21–24 , 25–26 View FIGURES 25–39 ), i.e. short conical cornuti at basal portion are a little larger ( Figs 22 View FIGURES 21–24 , 27–28 View FIGURES 25–39 ). Shape of uncus and length of costal process are rather variable. In H. terminalis , the ostium of ductus bursae is contracted ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 40–44 ), while it is widened in H. amamioshima ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 40–44 ). On the other hand, the basal potion of ductus bursae is widened in H. terminalis , while it is rather constricted in H. amamioshima .

Description. Male ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 11–20 ) & female ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11–20 ). Expanse, 20–27 mm; length of forewing, 10–14 mm. Male labial palpus ( Figs 2, 4 View FIGURES 1–6 ) long, second segment straight, directed forwards, third segment shorter than that of H. amamioshima , ca. 1/3 of second segment. Male foreleg and wing maculation as in H. amamioshima . Male genitalia ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 21–24 , 27–28 View FIGURES 25–39 ). Similar to those of H. amamioshima . Apical costal process of valva longer. In basal portion of everted vesica, cornuti a little larger. Coecum penis small. Female genitalia ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 40–44 ). Papillae anales and 8th segment as in H. amamioshima . Ductus bursae sclerotized, a little curved, contracted at ostium, broadened in basal portion. Cervix and corpus bursae as in H. amamioshima .

Distribution. Endemic to Taiwan.
