TYPE LOCALITY: China, Kansu, N. slope of the mountains of Sining, Guiduisha .
DISTRIBUTION: Kansu, Tsinghai, and Szechwan (W. China); Kashmir.
COMMENT: Corbet, 1978:149, included caucasica , caudata , and tianshanica in this species; also see Bobrinskii et al., 1965 [Key to the Mammals of the U.S. S. R.], Moscow; but also see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:524 and Ognev, 1948, 6:32-45. OLR, AEM, and GSJ consider these forms distinct species.
