Type material. Holotype: ♂ from Campus Embrapa , Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil (10.025°S, 67.693°W), VIII.2012, L.M.S. Costa leg. (UFMG 12402). GoogleMaps
Etymology. Epithet, a Latin noun in apposition, is due to the shape of the RTA, reminiscent of a chicken wing.
Diagnosis. The male is similar to that of R. amrishi by having a smooth embolus projecting from a sclerotized distal region and reaching the tip of the cymbium ( Fig. 16C View FIGURE 16 ). However, it differs by having an elongate RTA curved towards the center of the tegulum ( Fig. 16D View FIGURE 16 ; short in R. amrishi , see Ruiz & Sobrinho (2016: fig. 6).
Description. Male holotype. Total length: 2.66. Carapace dark brown, cephalic region black with tufts of white scales on lateral regions ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); 1.39 long, 0.98 wide, 0.72 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.78; anterior eye row 1.03, posterior 0.89 wide. Chelicera, labium and sternum dark brown, endite light brown ( Fig. 15B View FIGURE 15 ). Leg formula: 3142; length of legs: I 2.47 (0.82 + 0.36 + 0.60 + 0.43 + 0.26), II 1.98 (0.55 + 0.33 + 0.48 + 0.38 + 0.24), III 2.50 (0.84 + 0.36 + 0.48 + 0.53 + 0.29), IV 2.37 (0.72 + 0.31 + 0.48 + 0.55 + 0.31). Legs I–IV: femora, patellae and tibiae brown; metatarsi proximally dark brown and distally light brown; tarsi light brown. Tibia I macrosetae well developed, with tips of a more proximal pair surpassing insertions of the spines of a more distal pair. Abdomen dorsally light brown, laterally with proximal pair of tufts of white scales and another pair on posterior half ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); ventrally light brown ( Fig. 15B View FIGURE 15 ). Spinnerets light brown.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality (Acre, Brazil) ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 ).
