Gnaphosa tunevae View in CoL sp. n.

Figs 31–34 View FIGURES 31 – 34 , Map 1.

Material examined. MONGOLIA: holotype ♀ (Nr.555, Kaszab Mongolia, MNHB), Bayanhkogor Aimak: Changaj Gebirge, 120 km W von Somon Zag, 2280 m, 21.06.1966 (Z. Kaszab).

Etymology. Species name is a patronym in honour of our colleague Tatiana Tuneva (Yekaterinburg), a Russian arachnologist who studies gnaphosids.

Diagnosis. The new species differs from all known congeners by the scape with two pockets (or sockets, (Pp) (one pocket in other species), triangle shaped fovea and high (anterior) position of lateral margins pockets. The epigyne of G. tunevae sp. n. is similar to that of Gnaphosa sp. 2 in Marusik & Logunov (1995: f. 65) from Tuva, but the two species differ by shape of the vulva and scape.

Description. Total length 9.75. Carapace 4.7 long, 3.2 wide. Carapace dark brown with two diverging wide stripes going forward from fovea ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 31 – 34 ). Edges somewhat darker than other part of carapace. Sternum, labium, maxillae dark and chelicerae brown. Abdomen grayish with four spots in upper part of dorsal side. Legs brown. Metatarsi and tarsi of leg I and II with scopulae.

Legs spination: femora I 2 d, 1p; II 2 d, 2r; III 2 d, 2(4)p, 2r; IV 2 d, 2(3)p, 1r; patellae: III 1 r, other without spines; tibiae I 1-2 apical; II 1–2 apical; III 1 d, 2p, 3r, 2- 2v and 2 apical; IV 4 p, 4r, 2- 2v and 2 apical; metatarsi I 1- 1v; II 1- 1v; III 4 p, 4r, 2- 2v and 4 apical; IV 6 p, 4r, 2- 2v and 4 apical. Length of legs joints as shown in Table 3 View TABLE 3 .

Epigyne as in Figs 32-34 View FIGURES 31 – 34 ; fovea triangle shaped; scape wider than high, with two shallow pockets comparable in size to pockets of lateral margins; lateral margins almost straight, pockets located near anterior margin of margins; copulatory ducts long, almost vertical, receptacles spread horizontally; glands relatively short with club like head.

Distribution. Type locality only.
