This species was previously recorded from Liberian Nimba ( Coe, 1975; Verschuren, 1977; Wolton et al., 1982). This was the second most commonly captured fruit bat during this study after Micropteropus pusillus , and was recorded from 450 m up to 1,200 m a.s.l. It was regularly caught in forest edge habitats, as well as in forest interior and

at the edge of settlements on both Liberian and Guinean sides of the mountain.
