This species was previously recorded by Verschuren (1977) and Wolton et al. (1982) at Mt Nimba in Liberia and by Fahr et al. (2006) in Guinea. During this study, it was recorded at two forested sites on the Liberian side between 480 m and 730 m a.s.l.
