Panicle-branches patent only at anthesis. Spikelets 5-3—6*5 mm. Upper glume (2-7-)3-3-7 mm, very shortly acuminate; lemma (3-7-)3-9-4-5 mm, mucronate or with an awn up to 1 mm. E.C. Europe.
