Additional material examined. 2 males ( NMW), “ Malaysia: Selangor, Fraser Hill: Umgebung Gap , 900m, 12-16 VIII 1993, lg. Schuh” ; 2 males ( NMW), “ Malaysia – Pahang / Johor, Endau Rompin NP, 100m, Salendang, 28.2-12.3, leg. Strba & Hergovits 1995” .

Redescription. Male. Body oblong-oval, slightly convex above, shining, covered closely with yellowishwhite fine setae throughout. Coloration of body almost blackish brown, but antennomeres 1–3, head, pronotum and legs somewhat paler; lateral and posterior margins of pronotum widely yellow. Each elytron with five yellow spots, arranged in two transverse bands consisting of two oval spots, and one apical oval spot; anterior spots situated in proximal 1/4, interior one oval; outer one transverse; middle ones situated just behind the middle, interior one oval; outer one transverse; subapical spots subtriangular.

Head moderate in size, slightly convex above, closely punctate; clypeus long and wide, expanded anterolaterally, slightly concave in front margin. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca.

2.3 times as long as the maximum diameter of the eye. Antennae long, rather stout, reaching ca. proximal 1/3

of elytra; approximate ratio of each antennomeres as 5.0: 3.0: 4.0: 7.0: 7.0: 7.0: 6.0: 6.0: 6.0: 6.0: 8.0.

Pronotum transverse, convex above in mesal part of the disk, depressed above in lateral part, punctured as on head; antero- and postero-lateral angles almost right-angled; front margin slightly arcuate anteriorly; lateral and posterior margins slightly arcuate; PW/PL 2.18–2.50 (2.34). Scutellum moderate in size, subtriangular, punctured as on pronotum. Elytra oblong, slightly convex above, widest at the middle, punctured as on pronotum; EL/EW 1.41–1.47 (1.44); EL/PL 4.09–4.70 (4.40); EW/PW 1.28–1.33 (1.31); TL/EW 1.75–1.78 (1.77). Hind coxal plates distinct, subrectangular. Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs gently curved, dorsal ones ca. 2.5 times as long as ventral ones. Anterior margin of abdominal tergite I–VII simple, without any projections. Abdominal sternites III–IV covered sparsely with short regular setae; sternites V–VII covered densely with setae; apical margin of sternite VII shallowly concave. Tergite VIII moderately sclerotized, trapezoidal, covered sparsely with minute setae in apical part; bearing short spines on apical margin, with a pair of short apodemes; tergite IX lightly sclerotized, covered with minute spines in apical part, with a pair of short apodemes; sternite IX lightly sclerotized, consisting of two oblong plates, bearing short setae in apical part. Tegmen well sclerotized, semicircular, connecting with penis in apical part, parameres curved gently laterally, hooked at apices. Penis well sclerotized, symmetrical, rod-like; not exceeding length of parameres.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 2): TL 2.80 & 2.85 mm; PW 1.20 & 1.25 mm; PL 0.50 & 0.55 mm; EL 2.25 & 2.35 mm; EW 1.60 mm.

Distribution. Malayan Penins. (Perak, Penang).

Notes. Externally resembling Scirtes flavonotatus Champion , but smaller, more convex, with longer and stouter antennae.
