Type material. Holotype ( NMB): 1 male, “W Sumatra, prov. Kerinci , Seblat N. P.; 24 km NE Tapan; Muara Sako E env., 2°05’S 101°15’E; 400-550m; Dembický leg.; 4-18.iii.2003 ”, “Collection Naturhistorisches Museum Basel”. GoogleMaps

Description. Male. Body oblong, slightly convex, shining, covered with short suberect setae. Coloration of head, antennomeres 1–3, pronotum, scutellum and ventrum yellow; legs yellowish-brown; antennomeres 4–11 black, mouthparts dark brown; epipleura brown, elytra brown with yellow pattern. Pattern of each elytron consists of sutural stripe, transverse basal stripe extending to humerus, transverse row of 4 spots situated in the middle of elytral length, elongated subapical spot, and big subquadrate macula at apex.

Head moderate in size, dorsal side slightly convex, finely punctate; clypeus long, with rounded anterolateral angles, and shallowly emarginated margin. Eyes moderate in size, moderately prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.0 times as wide as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae filiform, reaching middle length of elytra. Pronotum slightly convex, covered with fine punctation similar to that on head; anterolateral angles rounded, projecting anteriorly; anterior and lateral margins gently arcuate; postero-lateral angles straight; posterior margin slightly bisinuate; PW/PL 2.23. Scutellum relatively small, finely punctate, equilaterally triangular. Elytra oblong-oval, widest at the middle, densely punctate; humeri well marked; EL/EW 1.36; EL/PL 4.6; EW/PW 1.52; TL/EW 1.66. Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs well developed, longer is almost straight, shorter is curved; dorsal spurs ca. 2.1 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.5 times as long as hind tarsomere 1. Sternites III–IV sparsely covered with short setae, setae are longer on mesal portion of sternite III and IV, sternite IV with two transverse areas devoided of setation situated close to its anterior margin; sternites V–VII closely covered with long setae; caudal margin of sternite VII shallowly emarginate. Tergite VII subtrapezoidal, without apodemes. Tergite VIII moderately sclerotized, trapezoidal, bearing long setae on apical margin, with a pair of long and stout apodemes; tergite IX lightly sclerotized, apical portion transverse, with minute setae in apical part, with a pair of long stout apodemes; sternite IX consisting of paired plates with relatively long setae. Tegmen well sclerotized, connected with penis; basal part semicircular; parameres long and large, as long as basal part, almost straight, pointed at apices. Penis well sclerotized, bifid at apex, longer than parameres of tegmen, connected with tegmen in apical part, well exceeding basal portion of parameres.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 3.65 mm; PW 1.45 mm; PL 0.65 mm; EL 3.0 mm; EW 2.2 mm.

Distribution. Sumatra Isl.

Etymology. The species name refers to the external similarity to Scirtes schawalleri sp. n.

Notes. Externally resembling Scirtes schawalleri sp. n., from which it differs in slightly smaller body, apical macula with rounded anterolateral angle (acute in schawalleri sp. n.), parameres not curved dorsally.
