Type material. Holotype ( BMNH): 1 male, “ PAHANG, F.M.S. Cameron’s Highlands. 4800 ft. 24-6-1935. H. M. Pendlebury. ”; “Brit. Mus. 1937-197.”; “ Scirtes curtelineatus n sp (descré)”.
Description. Male. Body oblong, slightly convex. Coloration of head, pronotum, and scutellum yellow; elytra brownish black with yellow maculation consisting of: basal stripe extending to the suture and humeral margin of elytra, median line subparallel to the suture, and apical oval spot; legs yellow, hind legs missing in the holotype; mouthparts brownish, antennomeres 1–4 yellowish, remaining brownish-black.
Head of moderate size, slightly convex dorsally, finely punctate; clypeus long, expanded antero-laterally, gently arcuate in front margin. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.1 times as long as the maximum diameter of the eye. Antennae filiform. Pronotum slightly convex in mesal part of the disk, finely punctate; antero-lateral angles somewhat acute, projecting anteriorly; front and lateral margins gently arcuate; postero-lateral angles right-angled; posterior margin slightly bisinuate; PW/PL 2.39. Scutellum relatively small, finely punctate, equilateral-triangular. Elytra oblong-oval, widest at the middle, punctation stronger than on pronotum; humeri elevated; EL/EW 1.40; EL/PL 5.25; EW/PW 1.57; TL/EW 1.67. Legs relatively long. Tergite VIII moderately sclerotized, trapezoidal, bearing a row of setae on apical margin, with a pair of moderately long and stout apodemes; tergite IX lightly sclerotized, apical margin arcuate, bearing minute spines in apical part, with a pair of stout apodemes; sternite IX almost membranous, bearing dense setae in apical part. Aedeagus symmetrical. Tegmen well sclerotized, connected with penis; basal part semicircular; parameres long and large, inwardly curved, of identical lengths. Penis well sclerotized, divided apically into dorsal and ventral part. Ventral part narrow and elongate, dorsal part widened at apex, covered with several minute spines. Penis much longer than parameres, connected with tegmen in apical part, exceeding basal part of parameres.
Female. Unknown.
Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 5.00 mm; PW 1.91 mm; PL 0.80 mm; EL 4.20 mm; EW 3.00 mm.
Distribution. Malayan Penins. (Pahang).
Notes. Externally resembling Scirtes basifasciatus sp. n., but median spots elongate. Penis longer than parameres, splitted into dorsal and ventral portion.
