Type material. Holotype ( BMNH), 1 male, “ Mt. Matang , W. Sarawak. G. E. Bryant. 2.1914”; “ Scirtes dichrous Ch. ”; “Type H. T.”.

Description. Male. Body oblong-oval, slightly convex above, shining, closely covered with short brownish setae throughout. Coloration of head, labrum, antennomeres I–III, pronotum, scutellum, meso- and metaventrites yellowish-orange; mouthparts, antennomeres IV–VII, legs and elytra dark brown.

Head moderate in size, almost flat on dorsal surface, finely punctate; clypeus rather long, slightly expanded antero-laterally, almost straight in front margin. Eyes moderate in size, slightly prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.3 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae slender, antennomeres VIII–XI lacking in the holotype. Pronotum slightly convex above, punctured as on head; front and lateral margins almost straight; antero-lateral angles ca. 90º, gently projecting anteriorly; postero-lateral angles right-angled; posterior margin gently bisinuate; PW/PL 3.00. Scutellum moderate in size, finely punctate, equilateral-triangular. Elytra oblong, slightly convex above, widest at the middle, closely and strongly punctate; humeral portions slightly elevated; EL/EW 1.27; EL/PL 5.44; EW/PW 1.42; TL/EW 1.51. Hind tibial spurs gently curved laterally; dorsal spurs ca. 2.0 times as long as ventral ones, hind tarsi 1 absent in the holotype. Caudal margin of sternite VII shallowly concave. Tergite VIII moderately sclerotized, trapezoidal, bearing a row of long spines on apical margin, with a pair of long apodemes; tergite IX lightly sclerotized, apical margin membranous, bearing short spines in apical part, with a pair of stout apodemes diverging posteriorly; sternite IX almost membranous, consisting of two rectangular hemisternites, bearing distinct setae in apical part. Tegmen large, well sclerotized; basal part oblong, subpalallel-sided; parameres long, outcurved, slightly shorter than apical portion of penis, pointed at apices, covered with minute foveae. Penis elongated, well sclerotized; apical portion longer than tegmen, widened, membranous with minute serrae.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 3.09 mm; PW 1.44 mm; PL 0.48 mm; EL 2.61 mm; EW 2.05 mm.

Distribution. Borneo: Sarawak.

Notes. Externally resembling Scirtes curvans sp. n., differing in genital morphology: aedeagus with longer basal portion; parameres longer, as long as apical portion of penis.
