II. crobylotus View in CoL group

A rather heterogene group, restricted to New Guinea. Spinules at ventral base of fore basitarsus present or absent. Mid femur not thickened, bearing near base or about middle some ventral bristles. Mid tibia ventrally with long bristles and/or hairs, or with combs or ‘flags’ of hairs. Hind tibia ventrally sometimes with remarkable bristles. Eyes touching or nearly touching each other on face. Third antennal segment at most 1.5 times as long as deep. Surstyli short and relatively broad, close together; in fuscihalteratus the dorsal surstylus reduced. Hypandrium long, surpassing surstyli.
