Pedioxestis bipartita , sp. n.

( Figs. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 , 8 View FIGURES 5 – 8 , 11 View FIGURES 9 – 12 )

Type material. Holotype: ɗ, China: Mt. Fanjing (27°55'N, 108°41'E), Guizhou Province, 1390 m, 28.v.2002, coll. Xinpu Wang, genitalia slide No. W05103. Paratype 1 Ψ, 29.v.2002, same locality as holotype.

Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from P. ferruginea and P. concaviuscula by the distally divided sacculus in the male genitalia and from P. isomorpha and P. wuyiensis by the rhomboidal rather than ovate signum.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ): Wing expanse 14.5–15.0 mm. Head grayish white. Labial palpus brown, covered with white scales on second segment. Antenna with scape ocherous yellow, flagellum scales dark brown with grayish white rings in male; scape white, flagellum scales brown with white rings in female. Thorax and tegula brown, both grayish yellow posteriorly. Forewing dark brown, with scattered ocherous yellow scales; scales somewhat yellowish at base from fold to posterior margin; apex pointed; cilia grayish brown. Hindwing dark brown; cilia grayish brown. Fore- and midlegs grayish dark, tibiae and tarsi with grayish white; hindleg grayish white, distal portion of tarsi and femora ocherous brown.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ): Uncus large, triangular, broad at base, narrowed to pointed apex, laterally with strong setae. Gnathos relatively small, with scobinations, rounded apically; lateral arms about three times as long as gnathos. Tegumen deeply concave inward anteriorly, extending laterally. Valva elongate, medially expanded; costa slightly concave near base; apex rounded. Sacculus well developed, sclerotized, distally divided into two parts, extending to near end of valva: upper part with dense spines, apically with a large spine; lower part gradually pointed to end, curved upward, setose. Saccus short and broad, rounded apically. Juxta broad at base, narrowed to a sharp point. Aedeagus simple, about 2/3 as long as valva, straight, basal part slightly broader than distal part, pointed apically.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 9 – 12 ): Papillae anales setose, rounded caudally. Apophyses anteriores about 2/3 length of apophyses posteriores. Lamella postvaginalis a sclerotized ovate plate; ostium bursae rounded, with dense microtrichia; antrum short, widened posteriorly. Ductus bursae slightly longer than corpus bursae. Corpus bursae rounded, partially granuled; signum irregularly rhomboidal, with dense teeth.
