Ocean Whitefish. To 102 cm (40 in) TL ( Miller and Lea 1972). Vancouver Island, British Columbia ( Miller and Lea 1972) to Chile ( Pequeño 1989), including Gulf of California and Islas Galápagos ( Miller and Lea 1972). Depth: surface (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), 3–189 m (10–620 ft) (min.: Limbaugh 1955; max.: M.L., pers. obs.). Caulolatilus hubbsi Dooley, 1978 is a junior synonym.
